I love all animals and am often taking their photos, that passion began in childhood. As did many others that I still hold onto; the colour pink, crystals and trinkets, the sound of flowing water, collecting flower petals and acorns, vintage books and nostalgia.
I have spirit animals and guardian angels. I feel a calling to help, heal and ease the suffering of others as the effort in turn heals myself.
I’m empathetic and compassionate. I seek liberation from fear, restrictive ideologies and thinking-patterns; from illusion, from suffering.
I seek to be perpetually aligned with my highest self and true purpose.
I believe in the good in people. I practice forgiveness, towards myself and others.
I embrace relationships with other women and find strength in offering support.
I’ve been silenced…I’ve screamed…. I’ve been lost in chaos. I’ve found serenity. I have dissolved attachment and found freedom in safety and support.
I dive deep. I give. I receive.
I believe in the magic of synchronicity and see it perpetuated in my life daily. I have found acceptance. I have found love.
When Push Comes To Love ♡
In this intimate narrative, readers are given a candid look at the complexities of the epidemic of domestic violence.
Hannah is someone who endured the horrors of physical abuse at the hands of someone she thought she loved. This book is not just a recounting of one girl's trauma; it offers readers a unique and powerful insight into how easily it can happen and how hard it is to get away.
The book explores the toxic dynamics of abuse and provides a comprehensive guide for those seeking to help loved ones caught in similar situations. With practical advice, emotional support strategies, and an exploration of the vulnerability all girls and women face in relationships, this guide empowers readers to stand up against abuse in all its forms and to support survivors on their path to reclaiming their lives and their voices.
This book is a tool to arm young girls and women against the initial stages of manipulation and coercion to the escalating acts of control and violence.
Animal Compassion: I am motivated by my strong ethical stance against the exploitation and suffering of animals. I believe that animals have the right to live free from harm and that consuming animal products contributes to industries that inflict pain and suffering on sentient beings. True compassion extends to all animals, not just pets, and drives a commitment to avoid all forms of animal exploitation.
Environmental Impact: The environmental benefits of a vegan lifestyle are the most significant way to reduce your impact on climate change. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity. A vegan diet typically has a lower carbon footprint, uses fewer resources, and contributes less to environmental degradation. I am passionate about preserving the planet for future generations of all species which is why I choose veganism as a way to reduce my environmental impact.
Health Benefits: There are numerous health benefits when you maintain a well balanced plant-based diet, such as lower risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. For me, the personal health benefits, combined with the ethical and environmental considerations, make veganism a holistic and sustainable lifestyle choice.
Hannah documents her connection with animals and their experience in transport. Ethical Empathy is opening eyes to save lives- making a difference for animals by capturing rare emotional expressions- both human and animal. Empathy is drawing vital attention to the urgent need for the protection of food animals by generating the empathy required to build a massive shift in public view.
"Hannah is the eyes and ears for the world so that one day we will awaken to the endless suffering caused to these creatures."
Sympathy not Slaughter began in 2015 when Hannah locked eyes with a pig in a transport truck.
Hannah operated as Sympathy not Slaughter for years, making connections and collecting footage of animals at farms, in transport and at the slaughterhouse; Offering her sympathy and love, right before the animals disappear and she is forced to say goodbye forever.
Sympathy encourages one to feel sorry for another’s situation. Empathy goes beyond sympathy encouraging others to understand the feelings of another because they are experiencing it for themselves or bearing witness. Empathy creates a deeper connection, serving as a bridge for communication, understanding and connection between humans and animals.
Hannah keeps her promise to the animals that she will do whatever she can to help.
Hannah believes the most effective way to help these animals is to gently expose who they are and what they are going through— To allow these animals a voice and the opportunity to be heard.
Your Dog’s Best Friend began in March 2020, I had been leading pack walks since late 2018. Every one of my dog’s parents call me their dog’s best friend.
I’ve been voted the “best dog walker in Ottawa” through Faces Magazine in 2023 and 2024. I believe we are the best because I get to spend time with the best dogs in the city!
My favourite part of this job is getting to know the individual personality, character and charm of each pack member. The dogs love spending time outside, running and playing and benefit greatly from socializing with other dogs.
This is my dream job and I am so grateful for my days with the dogs.
Exploring Buddhist studies in University opened a door for me into a mystical new world. I am fascinated by the ideologies emphasized by different sects of Buddhism. Mayhana is my favourite.
Buddhism was founded by Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) in the 5th century BCE, is a spiritual tradition focused on personal enlightenment and liberation from suffering.
Central to Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, which outline the nature of suffering, its causes, and the way to overcome it through ethical living, meditation, and wisdom.
One of the key tenets of Buddhism is compassion for all living beings. This principle, known as Ahimsa (non-violence), encourages Buddhists to avoid causing harm to any sentient beings, including animals.
The practice of loving-kindness (Metta) and compassion (Karuna) extends to animals, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all life.
